On The Beach
The sun sinks into the sea
on his evening suicide dive
waves bleed carmine
pummeling the shore
A lone gull laments
my night terrors
of one small set of prints
in gray sand, on an empty beach
chill fingers ruffle hair
trace my spine, I shiver
You’re late, I chide
feral lips clash
hot breath, tongues lash
teeth scrape, sand burns
the sanguine sea sighs
and laps contentedly
